The Rose & The Nightingale - directed by Eliza

Right, now the member of the month, once R&N has been opened a month and is up and running, is decided by various things. The first thing: Activity. A member must be active with the site, meaning they come on at least once or twice every other day to check posts and reply to the people they're posting with. Two: they're involved with what's going on with the site. That means anything out of character or in character. If there's a change going on, they're giving feedback on it, or if we've started a poll for opinions on something, they've voted and replied, etc., etc. Over all just being involved. Thirdly: They're kind and respectful to the other players in OOC, the one that can be viewed by everyone. That includes the Cbox, the game board, and anything in the OOC categories. They're also willing to help members or guests that have questions if the admins aren't online to do it themselves
Ah, Paris. Life in Victorian France is enjoyable. Quiet and calm with only the occasional disaster (if you could even call it that!) to disturb your peace. A beautiful city with wonderful smells, music, and people. Any stranger on the street would tell you there's no place he'd rather be than Paris, France.

Paris is home to many wonderful attractions, big and small. One of the most well known is the Palais Garnier: The Paris Opera House.

Many flock to the Opera in search of fame, hoping to become known to all of France, to have their name and picture on the signs and boards, to be the stars of famous operas and attract people from all over the country to the shows.

On the outside, the Opera House seems quiet and calm. But the inside is quite different. Chatter is always abuzz, gossip floating in the air like a thick cloud of smog. Rumors fly through the Opera House like a well-bred race horse: at top speed.

The most current rumor happens to be that of the Opera's infamous Ghost haunting the halls and corridors. The current managers, Monsieurs Poligny and Debienne have retired and left the Opera in the hands of two new managers, Andre and Firmin. The story of their expeditions with the infamous Phantom of the Opera have only just begun.

What will you be to Victorian Paris? A shopkeeper? A wealthy spouse? Law enforcement, or simply your every day civillian?

Or will you be one of those who dreams of the stage? A ballerina, perhaps, or maybe you search for something more, something along the lines of diva.

Whatever you wish to be, it can happen here.

Welcome to Paris, France: the home of The Paris Opera House and its Phantom.

LE PALAIS GARNIER
[ ]Front Steps
The front steps to the entry way of the beloved Opera. Maybe you're coming, going, or simply waiting to find a carriage ride elsewhere. Or maybe you're simply socializing. The steps are a great way to meet new people.
00
[ ]The Foyer
The Foyer of the grand Opera House, decorated just as beautifully as the rest of the building.
00
[ ]The Ball Room
This is where every holiday ball is, and the annual New Year's Masquerade. They're always wonderful, those who go say they wouldn't miss the next for the world.
00
[ ]Le Grand Salle
The famous Chandelier Hall, where all major opera performances take place. Perhaps you're rehearsing, performing, or a member of the audience, a night in the Chandelier Hall is one to remember.
00
[ ]Dressing Rooms
These are the dressing rooms of the performers. They are rented, so if you can't afford one to stay in, maybe try to find a patron/patroness.

[ ]The Ballet Dormitories
These are the dormitories belonging to the young ballerinas of the Paris Opera. It consists of a large room filled with enough cots for the number of ballerinas at the Opera, each having their own small wardrobe next to their cot to separate it from the one beside them.
00
[ ]The Dining Hall
The Dining Hall is elegant, with a long table running down the center of it. Obviously, it is where those in the ballet and the cast of the Opera take their meals.
00
[ ]The Chapel
The Chapel of the Opera House is small, probably because it is not used often. It's quiet, the only noise being your breathing and your footsteps on the floor. There are various candelabras, and a cross on the small alter in the front of the room.
00
[ ]The Manager's Office
The office of the Opera's new managers, Monsieur's Andre and Firmin. Come here if you wish to speak to them about something. Perhaps if you're lucky you'll get a drift on what Opera they plan to show next.
00
[ ]The Rooftop
The rooftop of the Palais Garnier. Perhaps you'll come sit by Apollo's Lyre and look out over the beautiful city.
00
[ ]The Corridors
The corridors of the Opera House, to help one navigate his or her way through the extremely large building. The majority of them are dark, almost eerie. Always carry a candle, you never know if a certain Ghost may be watching you from one of his hiding spots.
00
[ ]The Stable
Yes, there is a stable in the Garnier. It is in the lower levels, I believe. It is where the horses used on stage are kept and trained. Feel free to pay them a visit any time you'd like!
00
[ ]The Cellars
The cellars, home to the rumored Phantom of the Opera. Be careful if you venture down here, after all, the Phantom is a trap door lover.

PARIS, FRANCE
[ ]The Daily Parisian
The main building of The Daily Parisian, the most popular newspaper in Paris. You can find what Opera is showing in the back pages, or watch for news on upcoming events (such as balls, galas, & parties) that are hosted at the Garnier.
00
[ ]Ladurée
The Ladurée is a fine French restaurant, one of Paris's most popular. The inside is quite extravagant, but the prices are very low which is surprising considering the impression it gives off. You can come here for breakfast/brunch, lunch, or dinner. It is more of a casual restaurant, so don't worry about formal clothing.
00
[ ]Streets & Sidewalks
The streets of Paris, whether it be messenger boys running by or carriages racing because their occupant is late for an appointment, they're always busy. The streets also hold many shops, making them the best place for a lady's day out.
00
[ ]Dalloyau
Dalloyau is a rather large bakery. They sell various small items, but also do personal orders. It's a great place to order cakes and such.
00
[ ]The Sisaro
The Sisaro is quite an exquisite place to stay. They don't charge much, but it's probably the best inn you could find here. They offer room service and will bring you a hot bath on request.
00
[ ]Les Ambassadeurs
Les Ambassadeurs is a top quality restaurant. It's highly suggested that you get reservations before coming here, otherwise you most likely won't get in.
Owner: NOX DU MAURIER
00
[ ]The Market
The Market opens every morning at seven o'clock, and closes at one in the afternoon. They block off an entire street for this to make shopping easier. Tons of little stands are set up. It's your basic grocery store, though occasionally you'll find a toy or antique stand as well.
00
[ ]Bonnet Park
Bonnet Park is a large park, to say the least. Sidewalks, benches, and street lamps are a part of this as well as a massive fountain in the middle. Often people will take lunch here for a picnic, or take casual morning/evening strolls.
00
[ ]Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity is the local church. It's huge and can seat hundreds of people. Perhaps you're coming to attend Sunday Service, or maybe you're simply there to be alone with yourself. Either way, your experience in the magnificant church will be one to remember.
00
[ ]The Cemetery
The Paris Cemetery is large, with mausoleums and sculptures of angels and such. It's a peaceful place, but somewhat eerie. I do not suggest venturing here alone at night.
00
[ ]The Slums
The Slums of Paris, it's somewhat hard to believe there are any in this beautiful city, but yes, they're here. These are the places you especially want to stay away from if you are alone.
00
[ ]The Travelling Circus
The Travelling Circus is located on the very edge of town, it is where the gypsies set up their camps and put on shows to make money. This circus is more commonly known as "The Freak Show".
00
HOMES
[ ]Manors
These are the stunning homes of those belonging to the wealthy status of Paris.

[ ]Cottages
Small cottages are located just out of the busy part of the city.
00
[ ]Flats
Flats are like apartments, basically. They consist of a bedroom, bathroom, and main room (it is large enough to have a kitchen on/near one end, and a recreational/family room near the other). They're actually quite nice, and rent is not that expensive.
00
OUT OF TOWN
[ ]Rouen, France
Rouen is a beautiful city, well known for its Notre Dame cathedral. It's quiet and quite relaxed, by far not as large as Paris but still of good size.
00
[ ]Bordeaux, France
Bordeaux is another large city, not as large as Paris but still quite large. Maybe your family lives here, or perhaps you're simply visiting on holiday.
00
[ ]Nice, France
Nice is another large city in France. Perhaps you could visit the Promenade des Anglais while you're there, it's exceptionally beautiful.
00
[ ]Avignon, France
Avignon is smaller than Rouen (not by much, really) but is still just as lovely as the large cities. Like Rouen, it is quiet and peaceful; a lovely place to visit.
00
[ ]Other
Visiting somewhere other than Avignon, Bordeaux, Rouen, or Nice? This is the spot to post it.
00
OUT OF CHARACTER
